29 Palms BJJ makes it easier to train without leaving base. Structured classes. Experienced instructors. A friendly, low-pressure environment.

Training is recreational, challenging, and grounded in a safe, close-knit environment.
A practical on-base option where comparable training opportunities nearby are limited.

Your first visit
You do not need prior experience or special equipment before showing up. Arrive ready to learn and an instructor will help you get oriented.
Anyone with base access is eligible. Complete beginners are welcome, and you do not need to contact the club before attending.
A gi is encouraged, but no-gi is welcome. Old cammies work as a gi substitute, or simply wear comfortable athletic clothing such as a shirt and shorts.
Plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early. Come clean, wear clean training clothes, and keep fingernails and toenails trimmed. Loaner gis are not currently available.

Yes. There is no cost to train with 29 Palms BJJ.
No. Complete beginners are welcome, and instructors will help you get oriented.

A typical 60-minute class follows this approximate flow:
Live rolling is optional, not a requirement.
Arrive clean and wear clean training clothes. If you work out beforehand, please wash before class. Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed, practice good oral hygiene, and follow instructor guidance and standard mat-safety expectations.
If you have a rash or other unexplained skin condition, do not participate until you have been cleared by a medical professional.
No. 29 Palms BJJ is a volunteer-run club located aboard MCAGCC Twentynine Palms and is separate from MCCS activities. It does not imply official Marine Corps, DoD, MCAGCC, or MCCS sponsorship or endorsement.
